Our story

Meet the mother-daughter duo behind SueChef—previously, The Happy Cafe in Forest Acres—which was a neighborhood staple in Columbia, SC from 2003 to 2021. Sue Hodges and her daughter Anne Reynolds have been serving up delectable treats since Sue started The Happy Cafe, and their loyal customers can't get enough. Sue's passion for cooking started at Hammond School, where her children were students. She later sharpened her skills at USC's culinary school, and the rest is history.

Now, SueChef is bringing their beloved pre-packaged items to all of South Carolina! Indulge in their famous caramel, cakes, cupcakes, BBQ chicken, and Sue's mother's dill dressing recipe. Customers are able to pick up from Ridgeway, at one of their South Carolina stockists, or even order online. The duo is always adding new products to the menu! Every bite is infused with love and nostalgia, carrying on the Southern way of life.
